The contribution of Caboolture Sports Club Chairman Kevin Kaeser has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours last weekend, with Mr Kaesar awarded an Order of Australia medal.
The accolade recognised the contributions to sport and the local community by Mr Kaeser over the last 35 years, starting with Caboolture Rugby in the early 1980s and extending through to various volunteer & Director roles with the Caboolture Sports Club Limited (CSC Group) for the past 20 years.
“I’m very chuffed and very humbled by it all,” Mr Kaeser said. “When you get into these things it’s just to help out.”
Mr Kaeser awarded life membership of Caboolture Rugby Union in 1998 and more recently was appointed the chairman of the Caboolture Sports Club Limited in 2015.
His service to rugby has taken him from coaching and committee positions, up to state level throughout the years.
“I was one of the founding fathers of Caboolture Rugby Union Club. Now I am chief cooker and hamburger maker at home games.”
One of Mr Kaeser’s biggest supporters is his wife Julie, whom he paid tribute to when speaking about the award.
“She is the matriarch of the rugby club and is still involved; we are a team.”
