Caboolture Sports Club recently sponsored the Young Riders Championship at the 2019 Greg Grant Festival of Show Jumping held at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre from 26th to 28th July.
A long-time sponsor of the Young Rider class, Caboolture Sports Club had the pleasure of presenting the Championship winner Courtney Tincknell (pictured below) closely followed by Tom Keable in second and Jasmin Ritter in third place.
“It was a close fight in the jump-off between all the riders and extremely impressive to watch the horses fly over the jumps,” commented CSC Group representative Shae Rudd.
Caboolture Equestrian Group Secretary Mechelle Williams said the annual event took six months of organising and setting up of three showjumping rings before the event, as well as finding accommodation for 450 horses, their riders and families.
“We’d like to thank Caboolture Sports Club for helping make this happen.”
The festival brought in over 300 riders and 530 horses to the Caboolture venue along with all their families, and over 600 spectators on Saturday evening alone to watch the Caboolture World Cup.
The main event saw riders compete in the Caboolture World Cup qualifier and is the second biggest show jumping event to be held in Queensland.
Young gun Clay Simmonds took out the World Cup in spectacular fashion in the final jump-off, shearing two seconds off the leader’s time and finishing with a clear round in 44.14 seconds.
Full streaming of the indoor competition reached thousands of viewers from as far as Spain, England, Paris and Singapore alongside New Zealand and Australian viewers from across the country.
Caboolture Sports Club was proud to be able to support the local equestrian event and congratulates Courtney on winning the Caboolture Sports Club Young Rider Championship for 2019.
