The Caboolture RSL has today officially announced the difficult decision to surrender their lease from the property owned by Caboolture Sports Club Limited (CSC Group) located on the corner of Hasking St and Beerburrum Rd, Caboolture. The Caboolture RSL’s lease will be surrendered from close of business Sunday 13th September 2020.
The Caboolture Sports Club Board have decided that the CSC Group will continue to operate a new community club out of the Haskings Street premises.
The new club, named Sports Central Caboolture, will open on Monday 28th September 2020 subject to Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) approval for the transfer of Liquor and Gaming licenses.
The Caboolture Morayfield and District Sub Branch will continue to meet and run their community service from the venue.
“It’s important that we respect and look after this long-standing community service,” commented CSC Group CEO Kelvin Patch.
“The CSC Group will provide the RSL Sub Branch with complimentary office space to help them continue to service the community.”
Although the news of the Caboolture RSL’s closure has come as a shock to all the RSL staff. The CSC Group have been working hard behind the scenes to support them. The majority of the existing RSL staff members will be re-employed by the new Club.
The CSC Group comprising of Caboolture Sports Club, North Lakes Sports Club, Centenary Lakes Sports Club & Function Centre, are excited to add a new venue under their belt to service the Moreton Bay community.
The CSC Group of clubs pays over $10 million in wages every year and puts over $1.9 million back into local sport and local community initiatives.
The new community club, Sports Central Caboolture will feature a Bistro, Café, Gaming Lounge, Bar facilities, and three Function Spaces. The club will also receive a small facelift before reopening to the public.
“The Club will be a new community hub for Caboolture, where members & guests can enjoy good food, watch their favourite sports, live music, raffles, Bingo, promotions and events.”
