CSC Group says yes to respect!

Say Yes to Respect Campaign

A collective of local clubs has joined Clubs Queensland in their latest My Community Club campaign to say YES to RESPECT for the month of September.

CSC Group, which operates Caboolture Sports Club, North Lakes Sports Club and Centenary Lakes Sports Club & Function Centre, are participating in the campaign which aims to raise greater awareness of this important community message by encouraging positive relationships not just in the clubs, but throughout the interconnected community.

“Statistics show 1 in 6 women and 1 in 16 men are currently experiencing some form of domestic violence,” said CSC Group CEO, Kelvin Patch.

“By sharing the message of saying YES to RESPECT, we can together make a stand against all forms of violence and have the potential to have a significant impact on our communities.”

“For the month of September, our patrons and guests will see signage throughout the club with information about this important issue.

“With so many bystanders to domestic violence, communities are now being asked to stand up, speak out and act.”

A 2018 report by the Queensland Government Statistician’s Office, showed that approximately 16.3% of adult Queensland residents were aware of domestic or family violence (DFV) involving a family member or close friend in the last 12 months and 11.5% were aware of DFV involving a neighbour.

“Promoting cultural change in the local area is extremely important to the CSC Group and aligns with the Group’s core vision,” Mr Patch said.

“Through the club’s extensive reach to more than 75,000 members and engagement with the community both online and in-person, the group has the ability to influence & promote awareness in the local Moreton Bay Region.”

The following sites have information about domestic or family violence, and what the public can do to help; 1800respect, DVConnect, White Ribbon Australia, Queensland Government – ‘Not now, not ever’, Our Watch.

If you or someone you know is suffering from any form of violence, we urge you to speak up and get the support you need.
