The Caboolture Sports Club Rising Stars Fund recently sponsored Kurt and Damon Bass for the 2019 National Junior Indoor Cricket Nationals held at Casey Stadium in Victoria.
Both boys, representing Queensland, had a great week and came home as national champions with their Under 13s teammates. Queensland finished on top of the ladder with only one loss to the Victoria in the competition.
Kurt led the batting with 120 runs and a strike rate of 144.58, alongside Damon with 116 runs and a strike rate of 114.85, which confidently led the team into the Grand Final match (Indoor Cricket Australia).
Both played pivotal roles in the Grand Final against Western Australia; where Queensland scored 122 to defeat Western Australia who scored just 27.
Kurt batted well, taking 2 for 3 from his 2 overs bowled, 5 catches and 2 runouts and Damon 2 for 4 from his bowling with 2 runouts.
Damon managed to get through the whole week without getting out whilst batting.
