Local community sports club, Caboolture Sports Club, recently took out the 2020 KENO & Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence’s highest accolade as Queensland’s Club of the Year Enterprise for the second year in a row!
The Club also took home another three awards including Best Dining Outlet for The Mill Restaurant (200+ seating capacity & $1m to $2m annual revenue), Club Director of the Year (CSC Group – Michele Rigger), and Support of Sport (CSC Group’s Rising Stars Program).
“With the difficulties the Club, staff, management & our community have faced throughout the COVID-19 closures, it has been a pleasant surprise to have been awarded Club of the Year again for 2020,” commented CEO Kelvin Patch.
“The four awards, are in direct recognition of our members’ support and ongoing patronage as well as a credit to all our hardworking staff, front of house and behind the scenes.”
The Support of Sports award recognises encouragement of sport through the provision of facilities, training programs, financial support and contribution of club staff to assist sporting groups.
Tony Clarke, Sports & Community Manager, and the Sponsorships Committee developed the CSC Group’s Rising Stars Program to help local athletes and officials, in need of financial aid, compete at Regional, State, National and International levels of sport.
The program was launched in 2000 and has now supported over 2,000 recipients and provided over $350,000 in cash & support.
The Rising Stars Program is one of three community support programs provided by the CSC Group, which combined deliver close to $2 million in cash and in-kind support to the community each year.
The CSC Group’s Board Director Michele Rigger also won Club Director of the Year for her 22 years service at the Club, being one of the only Directors to have resided on the Board for the Club’s entire 22 year history.
In 2004, Michele became a CSC Group life member after starting as a volunteer in 1996. She was not only involved in the Club’s initial masterplan development but also the purchase of Caboolture RSL in 2016, development of North Lakes Sports Club in 2017, and multiple positions in the Caboolture Football foundation club. Michele’s efforts and community spirit is highly regarded by many members of the community and local members of parliament.
“We are so proud of Michele and all the work she does for our Clubs,” commented CEO Mr Patch.
Caboolture Sports Club also saw another first accomplished this year in winning the Best Dining Outlet award for The Mill Restaurant.
“We are very excited to have won this award. And even more excited now that members & guests can dine with us again, now that our doors have reopened, added CEO Mr Patch.
With new measures in place to help promote regular hygiene practices, contact tracing and social distancing throughout the Club’s restaurant, café and bars, Caboolture Sports Club has welcomed members and guests back in a safe manner.
“Thank you to all our members, staff and the Board of Directors for their continued support and we cannot wait to see everyone at our award-winning venue soon.”
