August was a busy month for Burpengary dynamic duo - Sophie and Emma Lewis. Both sisters represented Sunshine Coast in the Junior State Touch Football Championships in Townsville.
Emma's Under 12 narrowly missed out in the grand final, going down to South Queensland 7-4, while Sohie's Under 14 team were knocked out in the semi-finals.
However, she was named in the Queensland side that will be touring Auckland in December.
Emma also played in the Under 12 Girls State Touch Championships in Toowoomba, and this was the first time that Sunny Coast had won this age group. The girls were excited and proud to bring the trophy home to the Sunshine Coast.
To help the Lewis family with the cost of competing in the state championships, they have received sponsorship funding as part of the Caboolture Sports Club's Rising Stars program.
